The Regents of the University of Michigan International Undergraduate Scholarship in US.

The International Undergraduate Scholarship awards an annual scholarship of $10,000 for up to four years (each award valued at $40,000 for a period of up to four years).

Requirements for Freshmen

• International student that holds a valid visa

• GPA of 3.0 (4.0 scale)

• SAT combined score of 1020 or higher (ACT composite score of 20)

• Full-time degree-seeking enrollment at University of Michigan-Dearborn

• Renewable with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 at UM-Dearborn

• English Proficiency score of IELTS (6.5), TOEFL (IBT-80, CBT-213, PBT-550), or MELAB (76).

Requirements for Transfers

• International student that holds a valid visa

• GPA of 3.5 (4.0 scale)

• Full-time degree-seeking enrollment at University of Michigan-Dearborn

• Renewable with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 at UM-Dearborn

The Fine Print

• SAT criteria are based on the new SAT total score for Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and Math.

• GPA, at the time of admission, is used in determining scholarship eligibility.

• All scholarships are subject to review for renewal at the end of each academic year. All recipients must meet requirements of satisfactory academic progress and maintain a cumulative grade point average as articulated in their Terms and Conditions Form at the time of online scholarship acceptance.

Birkbeck University of London School of Law Postgraduate Fee Awards for International Students

Eligibility Criteria

• You must be a new student who, ideally, has not studied a taught postgraduate programme before.

• You must have at least an upper-second-class honours degree at undergraduate level, or equivalent.

• You must show the potential to perform strongly on one of the Master’s degrees listed above.

• You can be a Home, EU or international student and you can be studying full-time or part-time.

Value Of Award

PhD programme in Sociology and Social Research (5 scholarships)

The programme provides state-of-the-art research training and teaches advanced professional skills in sociology and social research. Besides providing a solid foundation in the disciplines, including a broad range of quantitative and qualitative methods, the Programme places strong emphasis on theoretically driven empirical sociology. The PhD Programme in Sociology and Social Research is open to proposals on all kinds of topics related to Sociological research. Particular attention will be paid to proposals fitting in the following research areas highlighted in the description of the PhD programme, among them:

• social inequality studies and stratification research (class, education, cohort, gender);

• economic sociology, labour market and organizational studies;

PhD programme in Sustainability: Economics, Environment, Management and Society (SUSTEEMS) (5 scholarships)

The programme focuses on the development and implementation of models and methods in the multidisciplinary nexus of economic, environmental and social sustainability. Such methodologies include: sustainable economic models and tools for managing natural resources, sustainable business and management models and tools for companies, institutions, for-profit and non-profit organizations. Particular emphasis will be given to research proposals on the following subjects:

• Sustainability, impact evaluation and risk assessment for the natural environment (e.g. climate change), the economy (e.g. green technologies) and the society (e.g. social innovation).

• Non-market valuation for sustainability;

• The impact of regulations and norms on sustainable development;

• Business models in a world of technological and organizational change, and social innovation;

• Tools for sustainable management of businesses and territories;

• Sustainable development, inequality and poverty.

Two topic-specific scholarships are also offered within the Programme:

• “Management of sustainability: from projects to social impact assessment”.

• “From the concept to the measurement of social sustainability of a multi-service company with multiple workplaces in the light of the Sustainable Development Goals”.

King’s Business School

This ethnographic project, conducted in collaboration with a major asset management firm, investigates the dynamics of competition and collaboration among finance professionals and its consequences for the performance of financial organisations. The project investigates how competitive and collaborative activities relate to each other, how they impact professional relationships and investment decisions, and what consequence they have for financial expertise and organisations. We are seeking an outstanding student with a background in (economic) sociology or social anthropology, strong qualitative research skills (especially ethnography), excellent command of English, and excellent communication skills to embark on this exciting PhD project.

Based in the iconic Bush House in the heart of London, King’s Business School has strong qualitative researchers/ sociologists in its Accounting and Financial Management (AFM) and Work, Interaction and Technology (WIT) groups. We offer a unique opportunity to conduct an exciting PhD project on a salient topic for economic sociology, the sociology of finance, professions, and expertise, in collaboration with a major, international asset management firm. Advanced PhD research training will be provided through the King’s Business School and the London Interdisciplinary Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership (LISS-DTP).

Academic requirements

• Satisfy the entry requirements of the King’s Business School PhD programme – Master’s degree with at least Merit and a Bachelor’s degree with at least 2:1 in a relevant subject.

Residential requirements

• UK/EU applicants will be eligible for a full award paying tuition fees and maintenance.

• International (non-EU) students may apply but will need to fund the difference in fees between Home/EU and international fees themselves

The Victor H. Loewenstein Scholarship

The Victor H. Loewenstein Scholarship is awarded to one student on our Full-time MBA programme who is from outside the UK. The aim is to enhance the international nature of the MBA programme. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and the benefits to the student.

Victor H Loewenstein generously donates an annual Scholarship to a candidate from outside of the UK in order to enhance the international profile of the Edinburgh MBA. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and the contribution you can make to the MBA.

Mr Loewenstein is an alumnus of the University of Edinburgh. During his student years he was involved with AIESEC and was shortly after graduation elected Secretary General of AIESEC International, in Geneva. Now, retired after close to a 40-year career in Management Consulting, Mr Loewenstein is happy to offer this support to an MBA student.

Eligibility

• You can only apply for a scholarship once you have received an offer (conditional or unconditional) to join one of the eligible programmes and have either firmly accepted the offer or be intending to do so.

• The scholarship will be deducted from tuition fees.

• You will not be eligible for this scholarship if:

• You are fully sponsored by your employer

• You are in receipt of a full scholarship

• You have already accepted a scholarship from the University of Edinburgh Business School

If you been given a partial scholarship from a source other than the University of Edinburgh, you will be eligible to accept one of the scholarships on offer from either the University of Edinburgh or the University of Edinburgh Business School.

If the applicant is successful in being awarded a scholarship, but subsequently declines their offer of admission to the MBA, the scholarship will be withdrawn and awarded to another applicant. An award will be withdrawn if a student fails to meet the conditions set by the University.

How to Apply

• If you wish to be considered for a scholarship you should submit a scholarship application form as soon as possible after receipt of an offer of a place on our MBA.

• You will be notified of the result of your scholarship application within a month of the deadline.

Successful Applicants

Scholarships will have to be accepted within a certain timeframe in order to secure your position on the MBA programme and also to secure the scholarship funding.

If you do not accept and pay the required MBA programme deposit within the given timeframe then you will forfeit your scholarship offer. The Business School will then re-allocate this scholarship.

To secure a scholarship, the successful applicant must have paid their programme deposit within two weeks of being offered the scholarship.

If you receive a scholarship, you will be expected to participate occasionally as an ambassador for the Business School during and after your programme.
