Marina Voloshina, an associate professor at the Department of Operational and Investigation Activities and Special Technique, presented an author’s project of a modern model for combating economic crime, aimed at the effectiveness of law enforcement reform in Brussels (Kingdom of Belgium)

The project has an applied nature, it is the basis of the deputy bill “On the National Bureau of Financial Security”, created with the representatives of the European Agency for the fight against fraud, Europol and received support in the Technical Assistance Department of the US Treasury. The project has been nominated by the Financial Guard of Italy for the contest.

The expert group had the opportunity to visit the Europol headquarters in the Hague and get acquainted with the operational capabilities of Europol – horizontal operational services, operational and coordination center, also met with Vice Executive Directors of Europol Catherine de Bole.

The experts were learned with the scope of activities of Europol, the Tax Information and Investigation Service (FIOD), and the Camden Interagency Network on Asset Recovery (CARIN): a system of organizing financial intelligence, an information and telecommunication operational model, the development of analytical tools, methods of analysis on strategic and operational levels, ways of assessing risks and coordinating the work of the European Union’s national services in the fight against international crime.
