The educational marathon continues at the Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs! A series of thematic lectures for students of higher education, organized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, is held as part of the global action “16 days against violence”.

As part of the marathon, representatives of state and international institutions present to future law enforcement officers and legal scholars with short thematic lectures on preventing and combating violence, observing human rights, accessibility, and combating discrimination, etc.

Today, the speakers of the Educational Marathon were: Chissey Mueller, Senior Protection Coordinator of the Representation of the International Organization for Migration, as well as Yurii Parkhomenko, Head of the Migration Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine.

Thus, Mrs. Mueller presented the key activities of the organization in the field of combating human trafficking to the students of higher education. She also spoke about the trends in the development of this phenomenon and the aspects that arose at the beginning of the pandemic.

Yurii Parkhomenko presented the cadets and students with a discourse on the topic “Risks of human trafficking in the conditions of armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine.” The speaker spoke in detail about the activities of the migration police under martial law.

Thus, the head of the department noted that with the beginning of the full-scale military invasion of the russian federation on the territory of Ukraine, priority directions and preventive measures to overcome the risks of human trafficking, relevant to new challenges, were determined.

We would like to note that the Educational Marathon began on November 28. In the course of several weeks, leading representatives of state and international institutions will join the lectures for the youth of higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
