Future police officers with orange balloons in their arms formed a symbolic “violence circle”. Then cadets tore this circle apart and let balloons fly in the sky. It was the expression of their position against violence.

“Nearly 500 calls are received daily in Ukraine. 174 thousand of calls about domestic violence cases have already been fixed. Two years ago the number of registered cases amounted at 87 thousand. The problem of domestic violence is rocketing”, stated Natalia Shulika, DSUIA Rector’s advisor on gender issues.

According to Anastasiia Chechel, cadet of the Faculty of Pre-Trial Investigation, who partook in the flash mob, such actions are devoted to communicate people suffering from domestic violence that they are not alone and they can receive help, in the first turn.

“The problem of domestic violence under quarantine conditions has become even more actual. However, I am sure that after our flash mob people will see the significance of the problem, and those afraid of speaking about it will stop keep silence”, DSUIA cadet said.
