It is the second time when Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs accepts the team of training participants, trainers and the OSCE representatives on site in terms of the implementation of the international technical aid project “Development Training Capacities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Psychological Accompaniment in Emergency Situations” implemented by the OSCE project coordinator in Ukraine.
The project aims at enhancing psychological services provision at all MIA structures. The importance and significance of the psychological accompaniment course in emergency situations is proved by the participation of the representatives of the National Police, National Guard, State Border Service, State Emergency Service, medical and higher educational institutions in the training.
Andrii Fomenko, Rector of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs, police colonel, opened the event.
He paid attention to the active performance of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs in that direction. “We consider the creation of modern training centers on the basis of the University, one of which has been opened supported by the OSCE in Ukraine, a substantial achievement in modernizing educational process”, Rector said and claimed that the University would continue providing necessary professional aid in terms of the project initiated by the OSCE and the MIA of Ukraine.
Liliia Hrudko, “Human Security” project manager of the OSCE project coordinator in Ukraine, stated the following: “Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs has been our partner in our numerous activities, including combating domestic violence, for a number of years. Last year we engaged DSUIA cadets in the combating human trafficking quest. We were happy to see how quickly youngsters learned and how easily comprehended interactive methods of education”. The speaker presented “Human Security Ukraine” program and announced quests and summer schools in combating domestic violence and human trafficking for students of Ukrainian HEIs.
Serhii Hrynenko, national manager of the OSCE project coordinator in Ukraine, expressed his interest in further collaboration with DSUIA in the framework of this project.
Viacheslav Hrytsenko, leading specialist of the Psychological Provision Department of the Personnel Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, emphasized the significance of the training.
“The second stage of the project implementation with the OSCE project coordinator in Ukraine on the basis of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs is scheduled according to the “Main Events Plan” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Moreover, the project is supported by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Besides, the Cabinet of Ministers’ decree No. 534 as of 26 May, 2021 stipulates the development of a provision and procedure of the psychological preventive work in the MIA system, executive power central bodies and higher educational institutions with specific learning conditions training future police officers. The Ministry will continue cooperating with the OSCE project coordinator in Ukraine in this direction”, Viacheslav Hrytsenko said.
Liudmyla Tsarenko and Maryna Malinovska, the OSCE experts in psychological rehabilitation, delivered their presentations. In addition, experts highlighted that international experience exchange, especially of Croatia, in this sphere was a substantial factor.
The training will last for 5 days. It consists of particular practical exercises and aims at advancing professional competence of psychological provision specialists.
Official completion of the event with giving certificates will take place on 16 July at Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs.
