Training Completion at DSUIA: Special Police Units Representatives Received Certificates on European Principles of Public Order Provision

Official closing of the final stage of seminar-trainings under “Public Order Basic Trainings According to the Best European Practices of Ensuring Public Safety and Order during Peaceful Assemblies and Other Mass Events for Special Police Units” took place at DSUIA. 20 best police officers from territorial subdivisions of special police units of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region obtained the certificates on successful completion of studies.

Jurgen Mausbacher, Maximilian Heesing, Maria Elisabeth de Jong and Jurriaan Van Somersen, the EUAM specialized public order team of trainers, partook in the awarding of law enforcement officers.

Jurgen Mausbacher greeted police officers on the successful completion of the training. He mentioned that the total number of 80 police officers had undergone the training in Kharkiv, Odesa and Dnipro.

“You have managed to overcome all the challenges and thus you are receiving certificates today. This training is a part of the general course aimed at police reorientation in Ukraine. Currently the main goal is to create modern democratic police trusted by citizens and with significant role in society”, Jurgen Mausbacher told.

Oleksandr Yunin, temporary acting DSUIA rector, police lieutenant colonel, joined the ceremony of the certificates handing over as well and greeted the participants on the course completion. He mentioned that the project aimed at implementing the best European practices of training law enforcement officers.

“It is a precious 10-year experience with efficient principles studied and analyzed in details. Law enforcement officers from special police subdivisions obtained the best recommendations in public security provision as well as general implementation of “police for people” concept”, Oleksandr Yunin stated.

All the participants obtained relevant certificates from Jurgen Mausbacher and Oleksandr Yunin.

We shall remind that the trainings in public order provision based on the Scandinavian model has been held at DSUIA for the first time. It is stipulated that law enforcement officers selected to participate in the training for trainers will further train their colleagues to provide public order under the Scandinavian model.
