The qualifying championship in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) in Dnipro gathered over 200 participants from across Ukraine.
The team from Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs was represented by cadets Arsen Zaharov, Nazar Zlyy, Bohdan Yushko, Mykhailo Savchenko, Artur Burda, and Yaroslav Osipik. The athletes were trained by the head of the Department of Special Physical Training of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs, Viktor Boguslavskyi.
As a result of the bouts with opponents, the following students claimed first place:
⦁ Arsen Zaharov (Faculty of Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units, CP-233) in the weight category of 70.3 kg.;
⦁ Nazar Zlyy (Educational and Scientific Institute of Law and Training Specialists for National Police Units, PI-343) in the categories of 77.3 kg and 83.9 kg.
Silver medals were awarded to Bohdan Yushko (Faculty of Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units, CP-234) in the category of 65.8 kg and Mykhailo Savchenko (Faculty of Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units, CP-133) in the category of 61.2 kg.
Arsen Zaharov and Nazar Zlyy will represent the Dnipropetrovsk region team at the Ukrainian Championship, which will take place in April.
